RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-1026

A resolution approving amendment two to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, for the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration for the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the Grant Agreement to decrease the amount of the grant by $60,000.00 from $950,000.00 to $890,000.00, a copy of which amendment two is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that amendment two be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That amendment two to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, for the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, a copy of which amendment two is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
