RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-1015
A resolution recognizing Bellevue’s Peggy Nolte on winning the 2009 Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee’s Teacher of the Year award.
WHEREAS, Peggy Nolte, teacher at Westmeade Elementary School, has devoted her career to providing the highest quality education for Nashville’s elementary students and during her 30 years as an educator Mrs. Nolte has spent 22 of them teaching at Westmeade Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Nolte brings enthusiasm and energy to her students, has an excellent repertoire of teaching strategies, creativity, innovation, and vision that has brought invaluable assets not only to her classroom but as an advocate for Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee as well; and
WHEREAS, she motivates her students to learn as she incorporates the principals of the Junior Achievement program by promoting experiential learning and 21st century skills that prepare students for the real world; and
WHEREAS, she resides in Bellevue, where she and her husband Nick have raised two daughters and hosts JA volunteers from the Nashville community including Bellevue resident, David Ragosin; and
WHEREAS, Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee offers in-classroom programs for grades K-12 on varying age appropriate topics designed to enhance the current curriculum. Students in Elementary K-5th grades learn business basics of the world around them - the relationships between jobs, skills, and tools; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Bellevue’s Peggy Nolte on winning Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee’s Teacher of the Year award and commend her exceptional service to this program and we wish her much success as she continues her work both in the classroom and as a host for JA volunteers.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Bellevue’s Peggy Nolte on winning the 2009 Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee’s Teacher of the Year award.
Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Peggy Nolte.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
