RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-1014

A resolution recognizing Beverly Gillespie, former Office Manager, Engineering Division, Metropolitan Public Works Nashville, winner of the Roger Clark Award.

WHEREAS, Beverly Gillespie, former Office Manager, Engineering Division, Metropolitan Public Works Nashville, is the 2009 Roger Clark Award winner, an honor bestowed upon her from the Tennessee Chapter of the American Public Works Association (TCAPWA); and

WHEREAS, established in Roger Clark’s honor, this award recognizes the Tennessee Chapter’s nominee for APWA’s Special Service Award for dedication and service to the Tennessee Chapter of the American Public Works Association; and

WHEREAS, over the past 27 years Beverly Gillespie has been a dedicated employee with the Engineering Division, Metropolitan Pubic Works coordinating and organizing all meetings, sending out notices, and attending state and national conferences; and

WHEREAS, Beverly Gillespie is dedicated and committed to the highest ideals of public service; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize Beverly Gillespie winner of the Roger Clark Award and also on her retirement.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Beverly Gillespie, former Office Manager, Engineering Division, Metropolitan Public Works Nashville, winner of the Roger Clark Award.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Beverly Gillespie.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
