RESOLUTION NO. RS2009-1000
A resolution to appropriate funds received from The Electric Power Board of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, operating as the Nashville Electric Service, to the Metropolitan Action Commission pursuant to the Watt Ads Energy Fund.
WHEREAS, The Electric Power Board of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, operating as the Nashville Electric Service, previously entered into a contract for the Watt Ads Energy Fund with the Metropolitan Action Commission for programs to provide assistance with emergency repairs of vital heating and cooling equipment; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to that agreement the Metropolitan Action Commission estimated the amount of funds to be received during FY2010; and,
WHEREAS, the Nashville Electric Service has presented the Metropolitan Action Commission with additional funds exceeding the original appropriation in the amount of $5,900.000, as evidenced by the attached documents, which funds have been accepted by the Metropolitan Action Commission pursuant to its authority under M.C.L. 2.108.050; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these funds be appropriated to the Metropolitan Action Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the funds from a grant by and between The Electric Power Board of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, operating as the Nashville Electric Service, in an amount not to exceed $5,900, to the Metropolitan Action Commission, for the Watt Ads Energy Fund program, a copy of which grant is attached hereto and incorporated herein, be appropriated to the Metropolitan Action Commission.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
