RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-568

A resolution approving an intergovernmental agreement by and between the United States Army Reserve and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, to provide for joint recruitment efforts.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (“MNPD”) has entered into an intergovernmental agreement with the United States Army Reserve to participate in the Army Reserve Employee Partnership Program, which provides for joint recruitment efforts; and,

WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated Section 12-9-104 provides that intergovernmental agreements between political subdivisions of the State and agencies of the United States may be approved by Resolution; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement by and between the United States Army Reserve and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to provide for joint recruitment efforts, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
