RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-534

A resolution approving an application for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency.

WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is accepting applications for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) Grant, with an award of $4,051,398.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government may receive additional NSP funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and/or the Tennessee Housing Development Agency; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant application for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP), acting by and through the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency, with an award of $4,051,398.00, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency is authorized to submit said application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Section 2. That application for any additional funds which may be allocated to the Neighborhood Stabilization Program Grant for Nashville and Davidson County by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and/or the Tennessee Housing Development Agency is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency is authorized to submit for such additional funds.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
