RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-511

A resolution approving an agreement between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Discover Madison, Inc., for improvements to the Amqui Station, to be performed and maintained by Discover Madison, Inc.

WHEREAS, the Tennessee Department of Transportation has awarded a grant to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County in the amount of $594,673.92 for improvements to the Amqui Station; and,

WHEREAS, Discover Madison, Inc. will perform the improvements to Amqui Station, maintain the facility, and meet all the obligations of the grant from the Tennessee Department of Transportation, including the provision of matching funds in the amount of $148,668.40, as specified in the agreement between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Discover Madison, Inc.; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the agreement between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Discover Madison, Inc., for improvements to the Amqui Station, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
