RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-459

WHEREAS, Del Monte Milk-Bone and the Kroger Company wish to donate $5,000.00 with a cash match of $1,000.00 required to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, for the purchase of a canine for the K-9 Unit; and,

WHEREAS, a copy of the agreement regarding the donation is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this donation be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the joint donation of $5,000.00 by Del Monte Milk-Bone and the Kroger Company to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, for the purchase of a canine for the K-9 Unit, attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is authorized to accept the donation for its use and benefit.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
