RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-441

A resolution approving an extension and amendment to a contract by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, and the Campus for Human Development to provide room and board for homeless individuals participating in substance abuse treatment through the Downtown Clinic.

WHEREAS, Metropolitan Charter Section 10.104 provides that the Board of Health has the duty to contract for such services as will further the program and policies of the board, subject to confirmation by Resolution of Council; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Board of Health entered into a contract with the Campus for Human Development to provide room and board for homeless individuals participating in substance abuse treatment through the Downtown Clinic, which was approved by RS2006-1612; and,

WHEREAS, the contract was previously extended, as approved by Resolution RS2007-8; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Board of Health wishes to extend its contract with the Campus for Human Development for a partial additional term to begin on July 1, 2008, and terminate on October 31, 2008, and to amend its contract to set compensation for the partial extension; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the amendment to the contract by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, and the Campus for Human Development, to provide room and board for homeless individuals participating in substance abuse treatment through the Downtown Clinic, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
