RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-416
A resolution approving an application for a grant from the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Sheriff’s Department, in conjunction with Animal Control, to teach offenders vocational skills and small scale fabrication of pet houses for families who adopt or need pet housing.
WHEREAS, the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee is accepting grant applications to teach offenders vocational skills and small scale fabrication of pet houses for families who adopt or need pet housing with an award of $4,840.00 with no cash match required; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,
WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the grant application of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Davidson County Sheriff’s Department, in conjunction with Animal Control, to teach offenders vocational skills and small scale fabrication of pet houses for families who adopt or need pet housing, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Department is authorized to submit said grant application to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
