RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-415

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the Nashville Public Library Foundation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Public Library, for special collection staffing.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Public Library, previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the Nashville Public Library Foundation for special collection staffing; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that Grant Agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $35,000.00 from the previous total of $250,000.00 for a new grant total of $285,000.00, and extend the end date from November 30, 2008 to June 30, 2009, a copy of which Amendment 1 is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these funds be appropriated to the Metropolitan Nashville Public Library.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Amendment 1 to the grant by and between the Nashville Public Library Foundation and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Nashville Public Library, for special collection staffing, a copy of which Amendment 1 is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant amendment be appropriated to the Nashville Public Library, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
