RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-412

A resolution approving a renewal of the contract by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, and the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville to arrange for the provision of services under the Minority AIDS Initiative (MAI) for individuals affected and infected with HIV/AIDS.

WHEREAS, the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville wishes to continue to arrange for the provision of services under the Minority AIDS Initiative (MAI) for individuals affected and infected with HIV/AIDS to the Metropolitan Public Health Department; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to renew the agreement approved by RS2007-51; and,

WHEREAS, in exchange for the delivery of services to the Metropolitan Board of Health, the Metropolitan Government will provide payment of $211,298 for the period of August 1, 2008 through July 31, 2009; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this renewal and extension be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the contract Extension and Renewal No. One by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, and the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville to arrange for the provision of services under the Minority AIDS Initiative (MAI) for individuals affected and infected with HIV/AIDS, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
