RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-407

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Social Services Commission has entered into an intergovernmental agreement between the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, Bureau of TennCare, to provide home-delivered meals to TennCare eligible elderly and disabled people and be reimbursed for such services; and,

WHEREAS, Tennessee Code Annotated Section 12-9-104 provides that Interlocal Agreements between political subdivisions of the State and agencies of the State may be approved by Resolution; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this intergovernmental agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the intergovernmental agreement by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, Bureau of TennCare, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission, to provide home-delivered meals to TennCare eligible elderly and disabled people and be reimbursed for such services, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That any funds obtained by the Metropolitan Government pursuant to this intergovernmental agreement shall be appropriated to the Metropolitan Social Services Commission.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
