RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-372

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for programs to prepare adults for re-entry into the labor force (08-09-FY8-209-ADULT).

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development to prepare adults for re-entry into the labor force (08-09-FY8-209-ADULT); and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the Grant Agreement to decrease the amount of the grant due to federal rescission by $31,579.00 from $1,488,431.00 to $1,456,852.00, a copy of which Amendment One is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to the benefit of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Amendment be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Amendment One to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, to prepare adults for re-entry into the labor force, a copy of which Amendment One is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Nashville Career Advancement Center based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
