RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-358
A resolution recognizing the owners and employees of W.P. Camp & Sons upon 100 successful years of business.
WHEREAS, W.P. Camp & Sons, owned and operated by Richard M. Camp Sr., has remained a family-oriented business for 100 years and has carried on the family tradition of quality customer service; and
WHEREAS, the business does everything from raising and leveling of structures throughout Middle Tennessee and portable classroom relocations and house moves throughout Tennessee; and
WHEREAS, W.P. Camp & Sons is one of Tennessee’s premier businesses in moving houses and is widely recognized and respected in Nashville and Middle Tennessee and supports Inglewood and East Nashville; and
WHEREAS, W.P. Camp & Sons are renowned for their ability to move historic buildings including timber frames or solid masonry buildings in excess of 300 tons and to build equipment for transport of oversized loads in house moving activities; and
WHEREAS, some of their more notable moves are the relocation of the Amqui “Johnny Cash” Train Station, the Historic Sam Davis Home, and the Historic Cool Springs Home along with numerous other projects throughout Middle Tennessee; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes such a wonderful multi-generational family business such as W.P. Camp & Sons on their 100 successful years in business and wish the dedicated owners and employees success in all their future projects.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the owners and employees of W.P. Camp & Sons upon 100 years of successful years in business.
Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Wayne M. Camp and Richard M. Camp Sr., on behalf of the Company.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
