RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-348
A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management, to complete a Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan to mitigate losses from natural hazards.
WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management, previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, pursuant to which the Metropolitan Government was awarded a grant to complete a Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan to mitigate losses from natural hazards, not to exceed $89,565.00, which Grant Agreement was approved by the Metropolitan Council by Resolution 2007-107;
WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that Grant Agreement, as provided in Amendment 1, a copy of which is attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, Amendment 1 provides modification and clarification of language in sections A.3, A.5, A.8, and B.2 with no change in original funding; and,
WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That Amendment 1 to the Grant Agreement by and between the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, in an amount not to exceed $89,565.00, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management, to provide modification and clarification of language in sections A.3, A.5, A.8, and B.2 with no change in original funding to complete a Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan to mitigate losses from natural hazards, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized the execute the same.
Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Metropolitan Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
