RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-347

A resolution approving an application for a grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management, to support port-wide risk management for the Port of Nashville.

WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is accepting applications for port security to support port-wide risk management for the Port of Nashville; and,

WHEREAS, the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management is eligible to participate in the grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant application by and between the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in an amount not to exceed $1,469,700.00 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management, to support port-wide risk management for the Port of Nashville, a copy of which grant application is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
