RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-339

A resolution approving an application for the Arts Build Communities grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Arts Commission, for funding to conduct arts projects.

WHEREAS, the Tennessee Arts Commission, is accepting applications for the Arts Build Communities grant, with an award of $50,585.00 and a required match of $50,585.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the application for the Arts Build Communities grant, a copy of which grant is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same, and said application is authorized to be submitted to the Tennessee Arts Commission.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
