RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-330

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Police Department, for the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Police Department, previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration for the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the Grant Agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $600,000 from $350,000 to $950,000 and to change the end date of the grant term from June 30, 2008 to June 1, 2010, a copy of which Amendment I is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Amendment I to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Finance and Administration, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Police Department, for the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, a copy of which Amendment I is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
