RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-325

A resolution approving a grant application to provide nutrition and transportation services to eligible clients from the Greater Nashville Regional Council to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission.

WHEREAS, the Greater Nashville Regional Council is accepting grant applications to provide nutrition and transportation services to eligible clients with an award of $576,000.00 ; and,

WHEREAS, the grant requires matching funds from the Metropolitan Government in the amount of $45,100.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant application of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission, to provide nutrition and transportation services to eligible clients, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Social Services Commission is authorized to submit said grant application to the Greater Nashville Regional Council.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
