RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-324

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the Davidson County Drug Court Program.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the State of Tennessee for the Davidson County Drug Court Program; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the Grant Agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $500,000.00 from $1,000,000.00 to $1,500,000.00 and to change the end date of the grant term from June 30, 2008 to June 30, 2009, a copy of which Amendment 1 is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Amendment be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Amendment 1 to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the Davidson County Drug Court Program, a copy of which Amendment 1 is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant is to be appropriated to the State Trial Courts based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
