RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-285

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the Tennessee Department of Health to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to include the Families First grant with the Help Us Grow Successfully (HUGS) program.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the Tennessee Department of Health for the Help Us Grow Successfully (HUGS) program RS2007-2031; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the Grant Agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $211,100.00 from $399,000.00 to $610,200.00, to include the Families First grant, a copy of which Amendment 1 is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Amendment 1 to the grant by and between the Tennessee Department of Health and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, to include the Families First grant with the Help Us Grow Successfully (HUGS) program, a copy of which Amendment 1 is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant is to be appropriated to the Department of Health based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
