RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-281

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the Tennessee Department of Health to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health for breast and cervical cancer screenings.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the Tennessee Department of Health for breast and cervical cancer screenings; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the Grant Agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $39,200.00 from $55,000.00 to $94,200.00, a copy of which Amendment 1 is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council previously adopted RS2008-163 to approve this Amendment 1; and,

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee Department subsequently changed the effective date of Amendment 1 which change requires the approval of the Metropolitan Council; and,WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Amendment be approved, and the grant extended.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:Section 1. That Amendment 1 to the grant by and between the Tennessee Department of Health and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, for breast and cervical cancer screenings, a copy of which Amendment 1 is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant is to be appropriated to the Metropolitan Department of Health based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
