RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-272
A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for programs to prepare adults, youth, and dislocated workers for re-entry into the labor force and training for those facing serious barriers to employment (No. 08-09-PY7-109-ADMIN).
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, for programs to prepare adults, youth, and dislocated workers for re-entry into the labor force and training for those facing serious barriers to employment, which Grant Agreement was approved by Resolution RS2007-1956 and amended by Resolution RS2007-2133; and,
WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that Grant Agreement to transfer Administrative funds to Grant No. 08-09-PY7-209-ADULT, Grant No. 08-09-PY7-309-YOUTH, and Grant No. 08-09-PY7-409-DSLWK, thus decreasing the previous budget by $299,109 in Administrative Funds, for a new total budget of $0.00, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Amendment be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Amendment to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for programs to prepare adults, youth, and dislocated workers for re-entry into the labor force and training for those facing serious barriers to employment, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
