RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-268

A resolution approving a grant application to the National Endowment for the Humanities, from The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library to exhibit “John Adams Unbound” a display of his enormous contributions to the founding of America.

WHEREAS, the National Endowment for the Humanities, is accepting grant applications to exhibit “John Adams Unbound” a display of his enormous contributions to the founding of America, in an amount not to exceed $2,500.00 with no cash match to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant application to the National Endowment for the Humanities in an amount not to exceed $2,500.00 for The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Nashville Public Library to exhibit “John Adams Unbound” a display of his enormous contributions to the founding of America, a copy of which grant application is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant is to be appropriated to the Nashville Public Library, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
