RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-217

A resolution approving a Local Interstate Connector Route application for a grant from The State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Public Works Department, for improvements on McCrory Lane at I-40 West.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, has agreed to accept an application for the Local Interstate Connector (LIC) for planned improvements at McCrory Lane and I-40 West with an estimated cost of $2,000,000 from The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County; and,

WHEREAS, The Nashville Biltmore, LP, has agreed to participate in the planned improvements by providing matching funds with an estimated cost of $2,000,000, and furnishing the remaining moneys necessary to finish all work on McCrory Lane and I-40 West; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Metropolitan Government’s LIC grant application for a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, for improvements on McCrory Lane at I-40 West with an estimated award of $2,000,0000, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved and the Metropolitan Public Works Department is authorized to submit said application, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the Letter of Commitment for planned improvements at McCrory Lane and I-40 West from the Nashville Biltmore, LP, a copy of which is attached and incorporated herein is hereby approved.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
