RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-215

A resolution approving an application for a grant from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the purchase and removal of 5404 and 5409 San Marcos Drive which lie in a repetitively flooded area of Davidson County.

WHEREAS, the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency is accepting grant applications for home buyout in an amount not to exceed $547,635.00 with a match of $182,545.00 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the purchase and removal of 5405 and 5409 San Marcos Drive which lie in repetitively flooded areas; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Metropolitan Government’s application for a grant from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, for the purchase and removal of 5405 and 5409 San Marcos Drive, which lie in repetitively flooded areas, with an award of $547,635.00, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is authorized to submit said application to the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

Madam President:

I move to amend RS2008-215 by deleting the phrase “5404 and 5409 San Marcos Drive”, wherein it appears in the caption, and substituting in lieu thereof the phrase “5405 and 5409 San Marcos Drive”.
