RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-208

A resolution approving an extension and renewal of the contract by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, and the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville to arrange assistance in the planning, development and delivery of services for individuals affected and infected with HIV/AIDS.

WHEREAS, the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville, in accordance with the contract extension and renewal attached hereto and incorporated herein, wishes to continue to provide assistance in the planning, development and delivery of services for individuals affected and infected with HIV/AIDS to the Metropolitan Public Health Department; and

WHEREAS, the parties wish to renew and extend the original agreement; and

WHEREAS, in exchange for the delivery of services to the Metropolitan Public Health Department, the Metropolitan Government will provide payment of $2,328,143.00 for the period of April 1, 2008 through February 28, 2009; and

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this renewal and extension be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the contract extension and renewal by and between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, and the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville to arrange assistance in the planning, development and delivery of services for individuals affected and infected with HIV/AIDS, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
