RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-205

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through The Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management, to support homeland security capabilities.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through The Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management, previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to support homeland security capabilities which grant agreement was approved by RS2007-1867; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that Grant Agreement by extending the end date from April 30, 2008 to April 30, 2009 with no change in the award amount, a copy of which Amendment 1 is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant amendment be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Amendment 1 to the grant by and between the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through The Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management, to support homeland security capabilities, a copy of which Amendment 1 is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
