RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-165

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, for the provision of health services to the homeless.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, for the provision of health services to the homeless in Davidson County through the Downtown Clinic; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that Grant Agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $80,000.00, from $121,000.00 to $201,000.00, a copy of which Amendment 1 is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Amendment be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Amendment 1 to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Board of Health, for the provision of health services to the homeless, a copy of which Amendment 1 is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized the execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant is to be appropriated to the Metropolitan Department of Health based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
