RESOLUTION NO. RS2008-138

A resolution to appropriate additional grant funds from the Tennessee Department of Human Services to the Metropolitan Action Commission for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Action Commission previously entered in a Grant Agreement with the Tennessee Department of Human Services for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.

WHEREAS, the Tennessee Department of Human Services has awarded additional grant funds in an amount not to exceed $232,486.00 to the Metropolitan Action Commission for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP); and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Action Commission has accepted the amendment to the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) grant, attached hereto and incorporated herein, pursuant to its authority under M.C.L. 2.108.050; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these funds be appropriated to the Metropolitan Action Commission.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the additional funds from a grant amendment by and between the Tennessee Department of Human Services in an amount not to exceed $232,486.00 to the Metropolitan Action Commission, for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), a copy of which grant amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, be appropriated to the Metropolitan Action Commission.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
