A resolution accepting a donation of a monument to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County by the Old Hickory Chamber of Commerce.

WHEREAS, the Old Hickory Chamber of Commerce wishes to donate a monument honoring residents of the Old Hickory area that founded and organized the Old Hickory Chamber of Commerce valued at $4,000 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County; and

WHEREAS, a copy of the letter regarding the donation is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. BL2006-1015, donations of items valued less than $5,000 may be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this donation be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the donation of a monument by the Old Hickory Chamber of Commerce to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, pursuant to the donation letter attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That the Metropolitan Fire Department is authorized to accept the monument for placement on the Old Hickory fire station property.

Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
