A resolution appropriating additional grant funds from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the Head Start program.

WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has amended its grant and awarded a supplement to the original grant in an amount not to exceed $160,095.00 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the Head Start program.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Action Commission has accepted this grant pursuant to its authority under M.C.L. 2.108.050; and,

Whereas, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Amendment be approved.

Now, therefore be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1.         That the funds from a grant amendment by and between the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in an amount not to exceed $160,095.00 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the Head Start program, a copy of which grant is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2.         That the funds of this grant amendment be appropriated to the Metro Action Commission based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3.       That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
