RESOLUTION NO. RS2007-63
A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Police Department, for the Governor’s Highway Safety Grant for an enhanced DUI enforcement initiative.
Whereas, the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, has awarded a grant in the amount of $999,374.84 to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Police Department, for an enhanced DUI enforcement initiative; and,
Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1. That the grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, in an amount not to exceed $999,374.84 to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Police Department, to provide an enhanced DUI enforcement initiative, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That funds for any required match of dollars received shall be provided through the budgets of the Metropolitan Police Department.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
