RESOLUTION NO. RS2007-60

A resolution approving an agreement with the City of Oak Hill to provide the planning, construction, and maintaining of the streets and roads within the boundaries of the City of Oak Hill, except those highways presently controlled by the State of Tennessee and/or the United States of America.

WHEREAS, the City of Oak Hill is a smaller city within the General Services District of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County; and,

WHEREAS, the City of Oak Hill has provided the planning, construction, and maintenance of the streets and roads within the boundaries of the City of Oak Hill from July 1, 2006, through June 30, 2007; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is willing to pay to the City of Oak Hill eighty-eight thousand dollars ($88,000.000) of the funds appropriated by the Metropolitan Council for the planning, construction, and maintenance of the streets and roads within the area of the General Services District; and

WHEREAS Ordinance No. BL1987-1935 provides that agreements with eligible cities for the planning, construction, and maintenance of the streets and roads within the area of the smaller city are to be approved by Resolution of the Metropolitan Council.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the planning, construction, and maintenance of the streets and roads within the area of the City of Oak Hill, attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
