A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Department of Health, to provide sexually transmitted disease services and HIV/AIDs prevention and surveillance.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, previously entered into a grant in an amount of $1,103,300 to the Metropolitan Department of Health to provide sexually transmitted disease services and HIV/AIDs prevention and surveillance, which grant agreement was approved by RS2007-1821; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that Grant Agreement to increase the amount by $182,000, a copy of which amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this amendment be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant amendment by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Metropolitan Department of Health, to provide sexually transmitted disease services and HIV/AIDs prevention and surveillance, a copy of which grant amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized the execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant is to be appropriated to the Metropolitan Department of Health based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
