A resolution approving an amendment to a Memorandum of Agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Volunteer State Community College.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council, by Ordinance No. BL2003-1349, approved a Memorandum of Agreement between the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Nashville Fire Department, and Volunteer State Community College, for the purpose of providing students with experience in clinical training with Emergency Medical Services; and,

WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Agreement was previously amended pursuant to RS2004-418 to include mandatory HIPAA provisions; and,

WHEREAS, the parties desire to further amend the Memorandum of Agreement to allow for eight (8) additional annual terms as opposed to four (4) additional annual terms; and,

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. BL 2003-1349 provides that any amendments to the Agreement must be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving at least twenty-one affirmative votes; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this amendment to the Memorandum of Agreement be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Amendment Two to the Memorandum of Agreement between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Volunteer State Community College, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
