A resolution approving an application for a grant from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to provide financial assistance to fund new firefighter positions and staffing.

WHEREAS, an application for a grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in an amount not to exceed $12,651,000.00 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, to provide financial assistance to fund new firefighter positions and staffing has been prepared; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant application by and between the U. S. Department of Homeland Security in an amount not to exceed $12,651,000.00 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, to provide financial assistance to fund new firefighter positions and staffing, a copy of which grant application is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized the execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
