A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to assist with the recruitment and training of employees of Nashville Glass Plant.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government previously entered into a grant agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce to assist with the recruitment and training of employees of Nashville Glass Plant, which grant agreement was approved by RS2007-1845; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that Grant Agreement to increase the grant amount by $44,000.00, for a new total of $132,000.00, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Amendment be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Amendment to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, to assist with the recruitment and training of employees of Nashville Glass Plant, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Nashville Career Advancement Center based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
