A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to participate in a recruitment campaign for Embraer Air and assist with additional hiring needs (07-09-PY6-2FT-STATE).

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government previously entered into a grant agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development for participation in a recruitment campaign for Embraer Air and assistance with additional hiring needs, which grant agreement was approved by RS2006-1567; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that Grant Agreement to change the end date from June 30, 2007 to September 30, 2007, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Amendment be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Amendment to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor and Workforce Development and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for participation in a recruitment campaign for Embraer Air and assistance with additional hiring needs, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Nashville Career Advancement Center based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
