A resolution approving an amendment to a grant the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Board of Health, for the provision of health services to the homeless.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the United States Department of Health and Human Services for the provision of health services to the homeless in Davidson County through the Downtown Clinic, which Grant Agreement was approved by Resolution RS2006-1690; and,

WHEREAS, the Grant Agreement was previously amended, as approved by Resolution RS2007-2091; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to again amend that Grant Agreement to increase the amount of the grant by $644,560.00, to a new total of $1,469,103.00, and to change the end date from October 31, 2007 to October 31, 2008, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Amendment be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Amendment to the grant by and between the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Board of Health, for the provision of health services to the homeless, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Health Department based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
