A resolution accepting an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County by and through the State Trial Courts for treatment for persons addicted to methamphetamine.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the State of Tennessee to provide treatment to persons addicted to methamphetamine, which grant was approved by RS2006-1665; and,

WHEREAS, RS2006-1665 provided for the appropriation of the grant funds to the State Trial Courts; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that Grant Agreement to change the grant ending date from June 30, 2007 to June 30, 2008 and redistribute the total award amount from FY 06 and FY07 between FY06, FY07 and FY08, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this amendment to the grant be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant ending date change from June 30, 2007 to June 30, 2008, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the total FY 06 and FY07 grant amount be redistributed between FY06, FY07 and FY08, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.

AMENDMENT NO. 1
TO
RESOLUTION NO. RS2007-2094

Mr. President:

I move to amend Resolution No. RS2007-2094 by deleting in its entirety and substituting in lieu thereof the following new Section 1:

“Section 1. That the Amendment to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County by and through the State Trial Courts for treatment for persons addicted to methamphetamine, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.”
