A resolution recognizing Principal Brenda Steel and Amqui Elementary School upon being named most improved public school in Tennessee.

WHEREAS, it is fitting that Principal Brenda Steel, the administration, faculty and staff of Amqui Elementary School in Madison, Tennessee be honored for their commitment to academic excellence evident by achieving the most improved public school in Tennessee between 2004 and 2006; and

WHEREAS, under the dynamic leadership of Principal Brenda Steel, the faculty, administration, and staff Amqui Elementary School have built an environment which ensures that students have the very best atmosphere for learning and education afforded to them; and

WHEREAS, Amqui Elementary School is committed to providing Nashville’s children an education in classrooms that are welcoming and capable of educating all children; and

WHEREAS, the faculty, administration, and staff of Amqui Elementary recognize that each child is unique, learns differently, and, therefore, learns better if teaching is tailored to their abilities and interests; and

WHEREAS, faculty, administration, and staff of Amqui Elementary have been working hard to ensure that their classrooms and school are characterized as being high performing and have contributed significantly to building a stronger and more inclusive community; and

WHEREAS, the faculty, administrators, staff and students of Amqui Elementary deserve to celebrate their successes and reflect on how they might further improve; and

WHEREAS, the dedication to academic excellence demonstrated by all the fine individuals affiliated with Amqui Elementary School is clearly deserving of respect, admiration, and commendation; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Principal Brenda Steel and the administration, faculty, staff and students of Amqui Elementary School on this achievement and encourage them to continue appropriate learning activities.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Principal Brenda Steel and Amqui Elementary School upon being named most improved public school in Tennessee.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Principal Brenda Steel on behalf of Amqui Elementary School.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
