A resolution approving a contract by and between the Metropolitan Board of Health and STD Free, Inc. for the purchase of services regarding sexually transmitted diseases.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Board of Health wishes to contract with STD Free Inc. for a variety of services regarding sexually transmitted diseases, including organizing a community coalition, providing awareness and educational interventions, and advising the Health Department regarding reducing transmission of sexually transmitted diseases; and

WHEREAS, this Contract initially expires on December 31, 2007, and may be extended for four additional terms of one year each; and

WHEREAS, this Contract provides for payment to STD Free Inc. not to exceed $119,000 per year.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the contract by and between the Metropolitan Board of Health and STD Free, Inc., for the purchase of services regarding sexually transmitted diseases, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
