A resolution to appropriate grant funds from the State of Tennessee to the Metropolitan Action Commission for programs to provide services designed to assist low income and/or homeless individuals achieve self sufficiency and improve conditions of their communities.

Whereas, the Tennessee Department of Human Services has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed $5,446,078.00 to the Metropolitan Action Commission for programs to provide services designed to assist low income and/or homeless individuals achieve self sufficiency and improve conditions of their communities; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Action Commission has accepted this grant pursuant to its authority under M.C.L. 2.108.050; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that Grant Agreement to add $158,556.93 for the fiscal year 2007, for a new total of $5,604,634.93, and appropriate the additional funding for fiscal year 2007 to the budget of the Metropolitan Action Commission, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto; and,

Whereas, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these funds be appropriated to the Metropolitan Action Commission.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1.         That the funds from a grant amendment by and between the Tennessee Department of Human Services, in an amount not to exceed $5,604,634.93, to the Metropolitan Action Commission, for programs to provide services designed to provide services designed to assist low income and/or homeless individuals achieve self sufficiency and improve conditions of their communities, a copy of which grant amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, be appropriated to the Metropolitan Action Commission.

Section 2.         That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
