A resolution approving an application for a grant from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for buy-out of homes at 4802, 4806, and 4810 Milner Drive and 373 Wimpole Drive located in a repetitively flooded area.

Whereas, the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency is accepting applications for grants for flood plain home buyouts, with an award of $626,962.50, and a required match of $208,987.50; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

Whereas, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1.         That the Metropolitan Government’s application for a grant for buy-out of homes at 4802, 4806, and 4810 Milner Drive and 373 Wimpole Drive located in a repetitively flooded area, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same, and said application is authorized to be submitted to the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency.

Section 2.         That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
