RESOLUTION NO. RS2007-1819
A resolution approving a grant from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to sustain key homeland security programs.
WHEREAS, the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency previously awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed $3,536,966 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to sustain key homeland security programs, which grant was approved by Resolution RS2004-498; and,
WHEREAS, the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency has submitted a new Grant Agreement that would authorize the expenditure of funds remaining from the previously approved Grant Agreement, in an amount not to exceed $272,730.43, and to extend the term of the grant to April 30, 2007; and,
WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Grant Agreement be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Grant Agreement by and between the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, in an amount not to exceed $272,730.43, to sustain key homeland security programs, a copy of which Agreement is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Mayor's Office of Emergency Management based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
