RESOLUTION NO. RS2007-1813

A resolution approving an agreement with the City of Belle Meade to provide the planning, construction, and maintenance of the streets and roads within the boundaries of the City of Belle Meade, except those highways presently controlled by the State of Tennessee and/or the United States of America.

WHEREAS, the City of Belle Meade is a smaller city within the General Services District of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County; and,

WHEREAS, the City of Belle Meade has provided the planning, construction, and maintenance of the streets and roads within the boundaries of the City of Belle Meade from July 1, 2005, through June 30, 2006; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is willing to pay to the City of Belle Meade fifty-one thousand dollars ($51,000) of the funds appropriated by the Metropolitan Council for the planning, construction, and maintenance of the streets and roads within the area of the General Services District; and,

WHEREAS Ordinance No. BL1987-1935 provides that agreements with eligible cities for the planning, construction, and maintenance of the streets and roads within the area of the smaller city may be approved by Resolution of the Metropolitan Council.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the agreement between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the planning, construction, and maintenance of the streets and roads within the area of the City of Belle Meade, attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
