RESOLUTION NO. RS2007-1800

A resolution recognizing the work Mr. Earl Jordan has done for the City of Nashville.

WHEREAS, the leadership, commitment, and compassion that Mr. Jordan has shown speak volumes about his desire to keep the memory of loved ones affected by a senseless murder alive by establishing Partners In The Struggle Inc.; and

WHEREAS, Partners In The Struggle Inc., was created & founded by President and CEO Earl Jordan, as a grass root organization which speaks out against the murder and violence/gun violence of our loved ones here in Nashville and on a national level; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Earl Jordan, Founder, President and CEO, used his vision, skills and energy in creating this organization to bring different families together and support them in their time of need while vowing to make a difference not only here in Nashville, but around the country; and

WHEREAS, the Partners In The Struggle Inc. organization lends aid and support to families who are grieving/coping with the tragedy of their loved ones murder and to have a greater focus on educating and advocating towards community awareness against murder and violence/gun violence; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Jordan is instrumental in the implementation of many successful support mechanisms for the families of murdered loved ones, in which we conduct outreach ceremonies and events for the families of slain/murdered loved ones and awareness forums to address the homicide/murder issue and ways to prevent them from happening in our city; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Partners In The Struggle Inc., Founder, President and CEO Mr. Earl Jordan for his outstanding contributions and wish him every continued success in his future endeavors.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the work Mr. Earl Jordan has done for the City of Nashville.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Mr. Earl Jordan, Founder, President, and CEO of Partners In The Struggle Inc.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
