A resolution recognizing the Reverend Enoch Fuzz as a public servant to the citizens and communities of Nashville, Tennessee.

WHEREAS, the Reverend Enoch Fuzz is a native Tennessean, hailing from Germantown, Collierville, Fayette County, and Memphis, Tennessee; and

WHEREAS, the Reverend Fuzz has made Nashville, Tennessee his city of residence since January 1975 when he came here to be educated for the Ministry at the renown American Baptist College of ABTS, whose alumni include more of the top leaders of 1960s American Civil Rights Movement than any college or university in America; and

WHEREAS, since his first days in Nashville he has been unselfishly active in so many of the social, political, religious, and non profit causes of this community; working patiently to foster: Better Race Relations; Minority Economic Development; Voter Registration, and Participation; Access to Affordable Healthcare; Effective Public Schools; Unity and Cooperation between the churches of Nashville; Environmental Justice; Youth Development; Advocacy for Senior Citizens; and Organized Safe Neighborhoods; naming only some of the many important community concerns where he lended his charismatic leadership and humble volunteerism; and

WHEREAS, in February 1987, twenty years ago, the Reverend Fuzz was installed as the Senior Pastor of the Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church located at 819 33rd Avenue North, where he has refused to confine ministry to just the inside walls of the church, but has gone into the highways and hedges of the community; committed to promoting diversity, understanding, and unity among the peoples of Nashville; and

WHEREAS, over the past thirty years the Reverend Fuzz has been recognized as a servant/leader in civic and community organizations including, but not limited to: the Middle Tennessee Boy Scouts of America (Institutional Representative), Race Relations Study Circles (Chair/Facilitator), the Interdenominational Ministers Fellowship (President/Executive Board Member), the NAACP Nashville Branch ( Organizer/ Chair of the NAACP Health Committee, Chair Civic Engagement Committee, Executive Committee Member, 1st Vice President), the Operation Andrew Group (Founding Board Member), the Tomorrow's Hope and the Hadley Park Neighborhood Associations (Organizing Member), Minority Enterprise Development Week (Steering Committee), the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce (Member), the Faith Family Medical Clinic (Board Member), the Rev. M.L. King, Jr. Holiday Steering Committee (Chair), Nashville's Juneteenth Celebration (Chair), Metro Nashville Public Schools Strategic Planning Facilitators Committee (Action Team Facilitator), the Nashville Prevention Partnership (Treasurer), Have A Child for a Day, Inc. (Advisor), and community advisory board member at the Salvation Army, Metro General Hospital at Meharry, REACH 2010, the Nashville Health Disparities Consortium, and The Preston Taylor Housing Development Hope VI Revitalization Grant; and

WHEREAS, he is the founder, producer and host of a weekly community oriented radio talk show, "Just Talkin", heard Sundays at 5:00pm till 7:00pm on WVOL AM1470, to interview newsmakers, professionals, experts and community leaders about community initiatives, events, news, and issues; and how they impact upon the lives of people and the community; and

WHEREAS, the Reverend Enoch Fuzz is one of Nashville's most recognized and visible clergymen through his longtime dedicated service to this Community and to the Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, "A Church for all People", the church's motto developed under his leadership; and

WHEREAS, the Reverend Fuzz is the recipient of many awards and recognitions for his services in this community including; The Quincy Jackson Leadership Award (Tennessee Black Caucus of State Legislators), A Nashville Gold Record (Chamber of Commerce), Andrew Young Medal (Boy Scouts), Minority Business Advocate of the Year (MED Week), the Changing Lives Award (Vanderbilt University), and numerous others; and

WHEREAS, through his invaluable volunteer efforts with the many community and civic organizations, and the immeasurable contributions to benefit communities, he has truly made a positive impact on countless lives; and

WHEREAS, the Reverend Fuzz's hard work, commitment, ingenuity, and devotion to his profession will continue to contribute to our city and state for years to come; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Reverend Enoch Fuzz for his accomplishments and outstanding contributions to Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County and wishes him continued success in all his future endeavors.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the Reverend Enoch Fuzz, Senior Pastor of Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, as a public servant to the citizens and communities of Nashville, Tennessee.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to the Reverend Enoch Fuzz, and a copy to his church.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
